Allen again. Not sure how's everyone going here, since silly summer season and Christmas is approaching, hopefully most peeps here got some time to check around.
I remembered last year I just joined and checked if there are still active people playing zombie escape mode, either within other Aus server or suffer from 300ping in overseas servers.
Looking at the dtk server status, it dropped from 5 or 6 css servers, down to only 3 active css servers? Even the css multimode and MG servers are gone, leaving only the basics now
Can't deny that back in Sept 2023, valve released cs2 and replaced csgo in a rush, with lack of contents compared to csgo era. And that also nuked community servers, where all the stuff (plugins, maps, player models etc) have to be redo from scratch.
And the sudden arrival of cs2 means players are forced to upgrade their pc specs, with at least 12th gen i7 CPU and RTX GPU. It gonna be another 3-4 years until players upgrade their PC.
One year since the release of cs2, I have seen other communities messing around with metamod and counterstrikesharp plugins to get their csgo offerings back.
No idea what would dtk do next. I believe that it could have extra chance for dtk to accommodate new and returning players with CS2 instead of CSS. Given that CS2 is completely free to play, it would cater newcomers easily. Meanwhile CSS needs money to buy the game (unless *cough* here).
