    DUST 2 Nades

    Hey, I know that the Office server on source has double damage Nades. But can we have the same Nades on dust 2? When either t side or ct side suffers from spawn camping, it'd be really helpful just to clear em out. Just so it makes it easier. If not, that's completely fine, just want some justification as to why double damage Nades haven't been implemented into the dust 2 server. Thanks

    You really can't beat the feeling of watching a nade sail through the air towards you in the knowledge that it's too late to turn and run and that you're going to die. We're proper hardcore in Office, you know. I'm just not sure that dusties are ready for the big time. You can change it for them if you like, man, but don't send them my way when they need a shoulder to cry on afterwards.

    I play Dust2 regularly and I have never seen Boo Boo play on CT's!!!

    I agree that when playing on CT's and you're getting spawn killed with not much of a team the higher damaged nades would even it out.

    Zena does make a good point about getting trapped by awping spawn campers. I dip into dust every now and then and have noticed that getting trapped in spawn does seem to be a fairly regular thing (far more so on DtK than other servers) and it does, in my opinion, detract from the gameplay in quite a big way. It'd be good if something could be done to improve the ability of the opposing team to break out of it. If stronger nades aren't the answer then perhaps issuing more smokes to cover a breakout? Maybe give a player a smoke if they're killed within a certain distance of their spawn point? If not that then something which will increase the risk level to the spawn campers and allow the game to regain its fluidity instead of just being a frustrating turkey shoot.


    That's just my view though. I'd certainly recommend monitoring it in-game and keeping an eye on what players do when they're bottled up - if players are quitting the game during a turkey shoot then it'd be worth paying more thought to the 'problem'.


    {edit} I might be burned at the stake for saying this but even a flash here and there to blind the awpers for a few seconds would work.

    Spawn protection time for both teams was increased recently. I have been on most nights lately and spawn camping seems to be getting handled better by both sides.

    im not really a dust player, i started playing to practice for the server vs server comp and have only been in a few times since. i found that because im not used to how they play and often get called names for using a "dakdak" i gave up fairly quickly because i had so much troubble getting out of spawn without being picked off within seconds. i like the dust server and i would play in there more often if i actually had a chance at getting more than a few meters from spawn. just somthing to think about when new players come into your server. it really did deter me from playing.

Each to their own, I'm a short to mid-range player, some prefer it at a distance and an awp-heavy server does pose new and interesting challenges for players like me. I find following someone at a slight distance and letting them take the first bullet increases my survival rates heheh.

    i went in there one day when it was only JA Psycho myself and SA ikilled and we practiced on awps, but being a GGDM player for 8 years and knifing to level up off those guns i was really bad and so out of practice, thats why i chose to play with a dakdak when i cam back the second time because its a gun i was comfortable with for my first real game. i didnt realise it was kind of frowned apon by the other players and i wish i was smart enough to follow the others out of spawn haha my score may have been a bit better had i tried this.

    I've always been useless with awp and prefer to either smoke obvious awp points before I go past them or dodge to get a quick glance to see if there's one there. But then I've never been very far up the scoreboard (which is good because I'm scared of heights) so maybe don't take that as a tip


    Just practice a lot and ignore your scores until you get the hang of it. Sucking at new things for a long time is pretty standard across all walks of life.

    Lol, everyone complains about something, I don't really understand why we whinge about certain weapons that are available to everyone, there is no better feeling than every once in a while being able to sneak up on a player who's scoped in and, you guessed it, stick that knife where it hurts, tho some players (boo boo), are almost impossible to sneak up on.

    haha rube, I'll be looking for you in the background from now on in office, I'm getting pretty good at throwing knives over someones shoulder to stab the player behind
