DtK Development Team

Dear DtK Community,

We are now looking for members interested in joining DtK's Development Team.

What is DtK Development Team?:
This will be a group of dedicated DtK members collaborating on projects aimed at improving and making the overall experience on DtK servers more fun. Examples include ; creating maps, custom skins/models, mods/plugins, graphics,etc.


Who we are looking for?:
-Mappers
-Skinners/modelers
-Modders
-Graphic Designers
-Music/Sound editors,composers,etc (broad area but basically people can who can edit/remix music for the servers e.g quake sounds - headshot, monsterkill, humiliation)
- Video Editors (creating frag movies, server promotion videos etc)


Requirements for joining:
You do not have to be an expert at the above mentioned roles to be considered for DT. You could be a beginner but you must be dedicated and willing to learn. Inactive members may be removed from the team.

How will this Development Team operate?:
While participation in majority of the projects will be voluntary. DT members will be expected to fulfill needs of DtK Server's in terms of custom content (e.g maps,sounds,skins,etc). DT members will have a dedicated public forum section (current Graphics and Mappers corner will be modified into a DT section), they will also get access to a private forum subsection to be used for discussion and collaboration purposes. Server admins will be able to request custom content from these sections. The development team will be given access to a test server with FTP access to test any of the projects they may be working on.


Who's in charge?:
This division will be led and managed by none other than the super talented mapper/modder imthenewguy . With his guidance and supervision, I am sure we can expect great things to be produced by this team. Additionally , there will be a mentor assigned to each of the areas mentioned above. These mentors will be holding workshops, providing tips/guidance to members of the team.

I edit, mainly promo's for surf, but I'm actually after changing it up a bit. I'd love to learn more advanced editing though, I could see this as a decent opportunity.

I would love to help. As most of you will have seen I am a very active GFX member. I can also edit videos but mainly gfx. Being a DT in dtk would be an amazing honour and I would love to fill GFX or video editing. (as said before gfx is my higher priority) When will we find out who is in and such?

I believe that will become apparent when the section goes live. Will most likely make a thread indicating team members and maybe the projects they are working on.

You kinda have to be active on DTK to join lol. If you aren't going to be on forums, kind of defeats the purpose :P

Gfx can be responsible for texture creation and banners/signs etc.

A skinner/modeller will be invaluable!

I know Lua and E2, and I've already done some homework, and what I should be learning is similar to what I already know (A little bit of difference.)

i would love to join but one i am no longer with DTK and two i probably dont have the time for it, however if at all possible i would like to freelance my graphic/mapping experience to the team.

IF i had more time i really would have loved to join however RL is more important to me.

Only code I know, but i guess in this case its more applicable as its for all source games.

Have you looked into Source Mod? I know Squall would love someone else who can help out with scripting SM.

i love mapping and am a beginner at GFX

seeing my work on servers would be a great innovator to learn, and to be able to see the public critisism on my work would be awesome

I'm very interested in the mapping side and graphic design, which I have a lot of experience with (from newguy).
And I would also like to learn skinning a bit better and I have basic knowledge in the plugins, but not SOURCEMOD, so I would love to learn it

And to add, any team that has newguy and TopCat would be boss.

Yeah I've looked into Source Mod also, I'm down to learn both ESS and SM if needed. Might be a bit more difficult but I can manage hopefully!
